Traditional christian community in Kerala make Pesaha Appam which is also known as Indri Appam in some places only on Maundy Thursday(once in a year on Holy week).It is a non-fermented special bread made of roasted rice flour,urud dal paste,coconut,cumin,shallots,garlic,salt and water.A cross is made on the Indariappam with blessed Palm leaves which is usually kept by the head of the family(the senior most male).Pesaha paal is made of melted jaggery,coconut milk,cumin powder,cardomom powder and a cross with blessed palm leaves placed in paal by the mother of the family(senior female in the family).
